Cathedrals of Decay explores stories as carefully constructed spaces — monuments to belief, power, memory, and identity. I’m drawn to the fractures within them: the compromises, the unseen pressures, the tensions that reshape them over time. This is a space for examining how stories are built, what they reveal, and what lingers beneath the surface.
I’m Michael Helmers, a Digital Communication Arts student at Oregon State University. My work engages film, media, and visual culture through long-form analysis and close reading. I’m particularly interested in genre storytelling — especially horror — and the ways narrative form reflects cultural anxiety, identity, and change.
